The enzymatic reaction of heme oxygenase inspired the development of synthetic CORMs. The first synthetic CORMs were typically metal carbonyl complexes. A representative CORM that has been extensively characterized both from a biochemical and pharmacological viewpoint is the ruthenium(II) complex Ru(glycinate)Cl(CO)3, commonly known as CORM-3.
CORM-3 Powder is a water-soluble carbon monoxide (CO) releasing molecule that can be used to study the effects of CO on cellular systems. Carbon monoxide (CO), produced during the degradation of heme by the enzyme heme oxygenase, has recently been found to be an important gaseous signaling mediator in mammalian cells CORM-3 has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and cardioprotective activity.

Dichlorobis[di-tert-butyl(4-dimethylaminophenyl)phosphine]palladium(II)Â is a palladium(II) complex with two phosphine ligands containing bulky di-tert-butyl groups and dimethylaminophenyl groups. This combination of ligands provides stability and steric hindrance, making it an excellent precatalyst for cross-coupling reactions. The phosphine ligands enhance the reactivity and solubility of the complex in organic solvents, making it useful in C-C and C-N bond formation processes.

Application of Palladium(II) Chloride Powder
Used in the synthesis of semiconducting metal-containing polymers in which the polypyrrole backbone has a conformational energy minimum and is nearly planar.
Palladium(II) chloride can be used to catalyze:
• Cross-coupling reactions between terminal alkynes and aryl iodides or bromides under modified Sonogashira-Cassar-Heck conditions.
• Carbonylation of organic tellurides with carbon monoxide to form corresponding methyl carboxylates.
• Isomerization of allylic ester in acetic acid.
• Carbonylation of amines to form isocyanates.
