Lithium Formate Monohydrate (CHO2Li·H2O), a white crystalline powder, has the characteristics of a high nonlinear coefficient, high optical damage threshold, wide transmittance wavelength, and extension to the ultraviolet. It will lose water at 94°C to form an anhydrous mixture. When heated to 230°C, anhydrous Lithium Formate decomposes into lithium carbonate, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen.
