Lithium Metaborate (LiBO2) has the appearance of a white crystalline powder. Its main function is to mix with lithium tetraborate in specific ratios to neutralize the acidity and alkalinity of the different oxides to melt the sample, thus obtaining the corresponding fused glass flakes or solutions for analysis by XRF, AAS, ICP-MS, ICP-AES, and ICP-OES.
