Lithium Nitrite Monohydrate (LiNO2·H2O) appears as a colorless or white crystalline powder. It is hygroscopic and easily soluble in water. It is obtained by reacting refined lithium carbonate with an aqueous solution of nitrous acid, followed by concentration and crystallization of the resulting lithium nitrite solution.
