Lithium Benzoate (LiC7H5O2) has the appearance of a white crystalline powder. It is insoluble in ethanol and ether, with a solubility of 29.87% in water (25 ℃). It is often used as an organic synthesis catalyst. Because it is slightly harmful to water, so undiluted or large amounts of it aren’t allowed to come into contact with groundwater, watercourses, or sewage systems.
